It’s Spring Break and while it sure doesn’t feel anything remotely like Sping yet, it means the point in time where I start to get my life back.
Normally the month of March is always taken up by the Mariemont High School musical. I am the parent liason for the Mariemont Arts Association, which basically means that it’s my job to organize all the committees and manage all of the volunteer work that needs to go on behind the scenes. It also includes BUILDING the scenes, as I am on the set construction committee. It’s a huge job starting in January and ending at the end of March. For a while there, I feel like my life gets consumed with all things relating to the musical.
For me, the best part is taking all the pics. I should have had these up two weeks ago, but I kind of needed a rest from looking at them. Today’s the day, however, and here they are! Well, not all of them…but some of my personal favorites.
Anything Goes is a classic Cole Porter musical that takes place on an ocean liner travelling from New York City to London in the 30’s. We built a boat modeled on the Broadway revival set that debuted on Broadway in 2011. I think we nailed it. Props to my friend and faboulous photography apprentice, Colin Baker, for doing the lighting. It was supurb!
I also got to do the formal cast shots, and here they are….
Aren’t they CUTE? I can’t stand it!
If you’d like to see ALL the photos, please visit my proofing gallery. They’re all there.
Such a great show and a great group of young men and women. I can’t wait to find out what next year will bring! Congrats to all!
