Get Your Ducks in a Row | Cincinnati Portrait Photographer

So many times this last month or so I’d think that we were turning the corner on winter, only to find out I was dead wrong. This past weekend was really nice – in the high 50’s and sunny – but today it’s back to dark skies, heavy rain and wind.

A few weeks ago I was at the PhotoPro exhibit spending the day inside while the weather outside was bright and beautiful. It was another one of those great February days that we get now and then when you’ve just about had enough of winter. Instead of going straight home, I took a detour down to the river on the Kentucky side for some fresh air and some fresh photos.

It was sad to me seeing the once fabulous Mike Fink restaurant sitting there broken and unloved.

I didn’t expect to see all these ducks, geese, and swans down by the river. They were everywhere, just honking away. I enjoyed seeing them. They didn’t feel the same.  See that swan down there flapping away?  He wasn’t doing a dance because he was happy to see me!

Check out the dude in the top left below. He (she?) was really giving me a piece of his mind.  These geese and swans were HUGE. They were probably afraid that I was going to eat them, but seriously, I think they could have eaten me.

The silly geese thought if they tucked their heads under their wings that I’d disappear.  Not the brightest bulbs in the lamp, that’s for sure, but they were funny….and loud!  And below is the white swan again, carrying on as if I was coming to shoot him with something other than a camera.

Eventually I got out of there before that big white swan went postal on me. So I hopped back in my car for a jaunt across the Roebling Suspension Bridge.  Don’t photograph and drive. Do as I say, not as I do….

Here’s to spring, even if it means more of this (like today)…..

I’d say you’re closer to spring than we are! Glad you were about to get out and about–you do really well with street photography!ReplyCancel
